Yogurt that is listed with probiotics are those that say “live and active cultures” – helps get your stomach good and healthy bacteria which helps with a whole lotta stuff but of best note for your little ones would be healthy immune system and help with digestion.
We’ve found that a lot of yogurt with flavors has so much added sugar that we wanted to make our own mixes. Below are a few ideas to get you started.
If you want to create your own flavored yogurt, start with your favorite plain yogurt and stir in all sorts of foods and flavors. Here are a few ideas to throw in your blender:
Take 6 oz of yogurt (about 1 cup) and add one of the following ingredients to make your own healthy flavor packed snack!!
1/4 cup chopped strawberries and 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract for Strawberries and Cream Yogurt
1/8 cup crushed pineapple and 1 tablespoon of flaked or shredded coconut for Pina Colada Yogurt
With Vanilla yogurt – 1/4 cup pumpkin puree and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon for Pumpkin Pie Yogurt
Wanna boost it and hide a little extra health? Add some flax seed or spinach – your little one won’t even notice!
